SICILY. Akragas. Circa 420-410 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 15 mm, 2.00 g, 8 h). AK-PA Eagle standing left, wings spread and head lowered, tearing at dead hare held in its talons. Rev. Crab; below, fish left; all within shallow circular incuse. HGC 2, 103. SNG ANS 1002 (same dies). Westermark Period III, Series 1, 536.6 (this coin, O1/R1). Rare. Beautifully toned and very well centered, and of splendid Classical style. Minor traces of corrosion and with a light scratch on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
